Obituary for Charles Roland Looney

Charles Roland Looney
Charles Roland Looney, longtime resident of Eastpointe, died peacefully in his home on May 19, 2018. He was 75 years of age.

Charles was born on June 30, 1942 in Fulton, Kentucky, son of the late Richard and Drusilla (Wilson) Looney. He was blessed with two daughters of whom he loved and cherished. Charles worked for General Motors as a prototype engineer for 30 years, retiring in 2002. He enjoyed woodworking and going to classic car shows. Charles was quite the shark when it came to a game of pool and was also very talented in the game of snooker. When his granddaughter, Emily, came into this world, she became the apple of his eye and enjoyed every moment shared in her company. Charles was a very loyal, passionate man who was clever, intelligent, and had a wonderful sense of humor. To know Charles was to love him, he never met a stranger. He will be deeply missed and he will remain in our hearts forever.

Charles is the cherished father of Patricia Looney and Lisa (Brian Abbott) Looney; adored grandfather of Emily Kasner; and beloved brother of Nancy Staffan, Richard (Angie) and Johnny (Rebecca) Looney.

A visitation will be held at Faulmann & Walsh Golden Rule Funeral Home, 32814 Utica Road, Fraser, Thursday 3pm until the time of funeral service at 8pm. Burial will take place at St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery of Eastpointe at 1pm Friday.
