The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Paul Klozik can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolence: Time flies. It doesn't seem like a year. He is missed. I lost my Joanne on March 23rd of this year. She and Paul are preparing the way for us. We are fortunate.

Where is stub? I'd like to drop her a note.
Prayers are with all of you.

Condolence: I was sitting here at SpaceX building a training presentation, and part of the materials I'm developing had a "unit of measure" section. After two classes with Mr. Klozik, the concept of being clear on units is permanently burned into my synapses (that damned little toy robot UU (the Uranian Uncle). Thus, I had a "I wonder whatever happened to..." moment, and found this.

I was too young and stupid to realize it at the time, but Mr. Klozik was hands down one of the best teachers I ever had, and a key reason I have the job I have, at the company I currently work for. From the bottom of my heart, thank you Mr. Klozik, and a belated godspeed.

BTW, I'm sorry another student (sorry, but I ain't no snitch) and I kidnapped UU. We DID return him unharmed though. Mr. Klozik was right not to negotiate with terrorists. :)

Condolence: So sorry for the loss of Paul. He was a fine man, and a great neighbor. We have so many wonderful memories of the times we had in the neighborhood, and at the Indy 500 races. He will be missed so much.

Condolence: I graduated SHHS in 1987. When I look back at my education and the instuctors in my life, few stand out. Number one at the top of my list would be Mr. Klozik. He went out of his way to help me in my science struggles and I knew he genuinely cared about my succeeding.
He was a memorable man. He had a wonderful sense of humor.
I am so very sorry for your loss.
God bless his family and I pray for your strength and healing at this difficult time.

Condolence: I am very sorry to hear Mr. Klozik has passed on. He was a nurturing soul who I am grateful to have had as a Physics teacher during my time at MMSTC in the early 90s. Beyond helping put meaningful Physics-based mathematics into my life, Mr. Klozik taught me some critical life-lessons that I still hold close to this day. When I was trying to juggle my part-time high-school job and school-work, Mr. Klozik helped me realize that my real priority needed to be on learning rather than making minimum wage; I still keep this lesson in mind when trivial things seem to keep me from doing what is most-important. I also recall how Mr. Klozik saw me scribbling awkward to-do notes on a piece of scrap paper one day, and made the effort to give me a schedule organizer instead so I could keep my head on straight; to this day, I still use a calendar book (digitally now) to keep track of all of my deadlines and priorities. I learned a lot about Physics from Mr. Klozik, but it is these kinds of life-lessons that he taught as well which I value most.

Mr. Klozik: you will be missed, and not forgotten.

Condolence: "Uncle Paul" was my godfather. He inspired me and my brothers and sisters as kids on vacation at Lake Michigan to respect each other, play by the rules, appreciate gifts of God and family, love your country, stay in school, and do good for others.
As I entered the adult world, his influence and his life lessons became a very big part of the person I have become. Paul supported all of our major family events, encouraged me and others to tutor kids at an inner city school in Minneapolis, and reinforced the value of God in our lives.
He also never lost his sense of humor or the desire to be a great godfather after 50+ years. Every year, he and Aunt Stubby sent a birthday card addressed to "Billy" (the only person to call me that) and always signed "Your Godfather-in-Training."
I will miss him greatly and hope that I can someday be half the man he was. Our prayers and thoughts to all of the Kloziks. See you soon and God bless.

Condolence: Paul was my mentor in the science department when I first arrived at Sterling Heights H.S. and I was so blessed to have such a kind and caring man guide me along the way. His humor along with his signature bow tie always put a smile on my face. God Bless You, Paul. Thanks for all the beautiful memories. XO

Condolence: Paul Klozik was the friendliest teacher ever during his long tenure at Sterling Heights Senior High School. He taught as well as befriended each and every one of his Science students. Paul was truly "one of a kind!" God love him!
He will be greatly missed. Our deepest sympathies to the family
