Leonard Durda, a resident of Roseville for over 34 years, died peacefully surrounded by his family in McLaren Macomb Hospital, Mt.Clemens, Tuesday, at the age of 77 years.
Leonard was born in Detroit on May 29, 1940, the son of the late Stanley and Stella (Donikowski) Durda. He served his country honorably in the U.S.Army. Leonard was married to his loving wife, Patricia Wojewoda, in Detroit on October 10, 1964 and first made their home in Hamtramck before moving to Roseville 34 years ago. Leonard had worked for over 31 years for General Motors, Cadillac Division before his retirement. He was a member of the Local 22 U.A.W. and enjoyed the unions hall meetings. Leonard enjoyed fishing and doing puzzles. He was an avid Detroit sports fan, rooting for all the teams. Leonard was a loving family man and dedicated his life to his family. He had a great sense of humor and was very quick witted. Leonard will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Leonard is survived by his devoted wife, Patricia; his loving children, Kenneth (Peggy) and Michele LaRocca; his adoring grandchildren, Kyle, Aaron, Kayla and Alyssa and great grandson Blake. He is also survived by his sister Irene Janiszewski and brother, Raymond (Lexie) Durda. He was preceded in death by siblings, Joe, Eleanora, Virginia, Henry and Anne.
Visitation will be held at the Faulmann & Walsh Golden Rule Funeral Home, 32814 Utica Rd., Fraser, Thursday from 2pm till 8pm with a 7pm Rosary service and on Friday at St. Pio of Pietrecina Catholic Church of Roseville from 10:30am till time of Mass at 11am. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, ClintonTwp.
