Obituary for William Clark "Bill" Palmer Jr.

William Clark "Bill" Palmer Jr.
William Clark Palmer Jr.; longtime resident of Roseville, died peacefully surrounded by the love of his family on April 14, 2018. He is 92 years of age.

Bill was born on July 17, 1925 in Chatnam, Ontario, Canada, son of the late William and Dorothy (Lake) Palmer Sr. He served in the Canadian Army in his early years and was a Medic who helped and saved many of his fellow Comrades lives. In the late 1940's, he moved to the United States. Bill worked for Ace Hardware of Roseville for over 25 years as their Paint Manager and Specialist. He was united in marriage to his beloved wife, Charlene (Radzwion-Moroni), on June 24, 1977. The couple made their home in Roseville. Bill was a member of the Ferternal Order of the Eagles in Eastpointe. He was the biggest fan of NASCAR and was a proud member of MARFC Local Racing Club. Bill had so many collections of NASCAR memorabilia and loved going to the Indianapolis 500 and Michigan International Speedway. He loved to go camping with family and friends and looked forward to the Palmer Reunions in Canada. When it came to parties, he would dress up and become Willie the Clown; which made everyone smile. Above all, he loved his family and led an exciting and wonderful life. Bill will be deeply missed.

Bill is the loving husband of Charlene; dearest father of Lawrence (Catherine) Palmer, William (Vicki) Palmer III, Richard (Elizabeth) Palmer, Susan (David) Baker, Wendy (Michael) Montgomery, Jeffrey (Donna) Moroni, Raymond Moroni and Cathy (Anthony) Brown; cherished grandfather of Steven (Kim), Aaryn, Timothy (Jessica), Craig, Natalie, Richard (Leah), Ryan (Mary), Kyle, Jack, Zachary, Rachel, Michael, Jeffrey; dear great grandfather of Chloe, Kate, Tyson, Ava, Samantha, Olivia and one on the way; beloved brother of Janice Kalm; and dear brother-in-law of Marvin Kalm, Denise and Mike Nida, Judy and Al Neumann, Diane and Jim Crevier and the late Anita Wutzke. He is also survived by many of his dearest Canadian friends and family.

A memorial gathering will be held at Christ Church of Fraser, 34385 Garfield Rd, Fraser, MI 48026 on Thursday, April 19, 2018, from 1pm until the time of funeral at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be addressed to the Christ Church of Fraser. Memorial Luncheon will be at DeCarlo's Banquet Center immediately following the service.
