Condolence: Bette and family,
Gloria and I are saddened by Ed's death and offer you all our sincere condolences. Ed leaves a legacy of being known as "Easy Ed" for his gentle nature. If you would ask him how his family was doing you'd better have a lot of time. He was quick to share the highlights of the many grandchildren's events and scholastic achievements. He was extremely proud of all of them.

I had the privilege of playing softball, basketball and golf with Ed. He always had a smile on his face, winning or not. It was not the sport, it was his enjoyment of the people around him.

We know he is God's arm now and free of pain.

Grandpa Rickard was such a loving, kind man who easily welcomed people into his life and brought a smile to my face every time I saw him. It meant so much to me that he willingly let me call him Grandpa and welcomed me into his home and family, even though I was just friends with his grandchildren.
