My Father
My Dad was a giving man. He was the rock in our family. He was always there to lend a hand if you needed it. He worked hard in life. He was always in a pair of dirty jeans. Whether it be oil from his time working in his shop or saw dust working on his projects. He was always creating or working on something. He accomplished more in this short life than most do. He was a shop owner. He had many side businesses in the past. He had many toys in his life, you know boys and their toys. He even learned to fly aircraft's. He always used to say that he was proud of me. But the truth is I was proud of him. He went after what he wanted in life. He didnt let fear hold him back from accomplishing what he wanted in life. He loved my Mom so much. He would always say that he would die with out my mom and that is why he needed to go first. I wrote a poem for my dad when I was just a teen. He carried that in his wallet until it disintegrated. It was all about how I was going to make him so proud of me and buy him nice things like he did me growing up. I'm sorry dad that I couldn't fulfill what I wrote. He asked me to write him a new poem...I just never seemed to have the time. I will be working on a new one for you Dad. Im sorry Daddy that you had to leave us so soon. I hope you are home in heaven and surrounded with love and peace. We will be alright Dad. I will help take care of things. I will look over Mom and my sisters. I just hope you know how much I love and admire you. I could never forget you.
Your Living Daughter,
Kelly
