David F. Mitchell, resident of Roseville, died early Tuesday morning, January 17. 2017, in the comfort of his home, surrounded by the love of his family at the age of 76 years.
David was born in Detroit the loving son of the late Horace and Ethel (Cooley) Mitchell. He was united in marriage to his beloved wife, Carrie, on March 29,1963 in Detroit where the couple made their first home until moving to Roseville in 1968. David had worked as a interior parts expert and designer for Forcia and R.C.O. Inc. where he retired in 2006. He and his wife owned and operated Mitchell's Auto Trim and Glass Co. of Roseville for over 15 years. David belonged the Blue Water Society to Preserve Railroading and Harley Owners Group. He truly enjoyed riding his Harley, Karaoke (Sounded just like Johnny Cash), spoiling his grandchildren and going on road trips and sporting events with them. His family, their welfare and happiness was his number one priority. Dave will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Dave is survived by his devoted wife, Carrie; his loving children, Kim (Theodore) Piotrowski, Kristine (Edward) Downey and Jason (Kelly) Mitchell; his adoring grandchildren, Faurica, Theodore, Ashley, Brandon, Anthony (Steff), David, Jaiden, Ian and Ty and his great-grandchilden, Audrey and one on the way, Kassandra. He is also survived by his sister, Dottie (Oliver) Schriner and brother, Darrin Mitchell.
Visitation will be held at the Faulmann & Walsh Golden Rule Funeral Home, 32814 Utica Rd., Fraser, Thursday from 12 noon till 5pm and 8pm till 9pm; Friday from 10am till time of funeral at 11am. Burial will be in Christian Memorial Gardens.
