Shirley Wanita Starkey (nee Tetzlaff), age 90, passed away October 18, 2016 at Henry Ford Macomb in Clinton Township. Shirley was born in Detroit to the late Edward & Edie (nee Ellerman) Tetzlaff on June 25, 1926.

Shirley was a graduate of Fraser High School, where she also met the love of her life, William, whom she married at Zion Church of Fraser on February 19, 1944. William preceded Shirley in death on March 11, 2008. Shirley was both an avid reader and shoe shopper, but truly loved and cherished her family. William and Shirley were former members of Zion Church of Fraser and Bethesda Christian Church.

Shirley is survived by her loving children, Diana (the late Thomas) Heins and David; adoring granddaughters, Tammy (Todd) Hunt and Tracey (Brian) Van Huylenbrouck; beloved great-grandchildren Thomas, Troy, Taylor, Aiden, and Ava. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

A committal service for both William and Shirley will take place with Military Honors at Great Lakes National Cemetery on Friday, October 28, 2016 at 12:30 PM.
