When the stadium was planned for closing, our family wanted to attend one more game. Tickets were bought, and Eric  his father and I planned a day around the game. We had a nice lunch, and Eric  wanted to be sure we got to the ballpark in time for batting practice.  Our seats were upper deck, left field corner near the foul pole.

It was a perfect weather day. Our seats were great. Watching practice, there were others near, some with gloves and hopes to catch a stray ball.

When a ball came toward us, everyone rushed to try and catch it, including a young boy standing at the rail with his mom.  He jumped for the ball, missed it, but tipping it up in the air. My son caught it.  Then seeing the boys sad face...he immediately handed it to him saying  " here ya go, if it hadn't been for that great glove action, I wouldn't have caught it"

I had tears in my eyes, I had just watch my son make a child very happy.  I will forever be proud of our son.
