I have so many memories of my grandma. My childhood is filled with so many great and memorable stories of both my grandma and grandpa. Growing up my brother and I were so fortunate to have spent most of our summer vacation up north at the cottage. Keith and I were always doing something up there including fishing, catching frogs in the pond & on those rainy days you could find us in the garage building stuff with grandpa's tools. And everyday grandma would be playing with her flowers, cleaning out the pond & burning leaves (I still remember that wonderful smell of the firepit).  If I had to pick out 1 single memory that stands out, it would be the time that we went on a vacation through Boston and Atalantic City. Grandma just loved those casinos. This is before the casinos were opened 24 hours & grandma & I were playing still after everyone else went back up to their hotel rooms. Around 3:00 am, the security had to ask us to leave. Grandma and I just laughed so much that we just got kicked out of a casino. Something I will never forget.  As I grew older and became a mother I shared so many of my memories and stories with Jeremy & Jenna. Also, we have taken them up north to the cottage to show them why it is so special and an important part of my life. Jeremy and Jenna loved going over and seeing "Grandma Sophie" and always had a big hug and kiss for her. That is something I will miss very much. Grandma, we love you so much and miss you. To Cheryl ,John ,David and children:  Our deepest sympathy to all of you. Sophie will always be remembered as the "gramma" that knitted caps and scarves for my three little girls..She was kind, smiling and always chatted with them , Patrick and I..along with your Dad she will always be in our prayers. She is planting her garden for the Lord right now and walking with her Harry.  She is not hurting and she is happy. That smile is what we will always remember. Grandma and I were standing to the side while they were changing the tire when she oh so quietly says "One of them has a gun!"  One of the guys comes quickly over and says he should introduce themselves better handing me a card - "we are state police detectives coming from a meeting and we do carry our guns on duty".  He went on to tell me where to safely go to get a new tire.

After Grandma and I were on the road again with big smiles she started laughing too.  "I got their license plate number so we have to stop so I can play the 3 digits in the lottery."  Which we did but sadly I don't recall that she won. 

Thankfully, the rest of that trip remained unevetful.  But we did have some other fun trips where we didn't get "lost" but we did seem to take the long way:).
