Obituary for Gerald A. McCalley

Gerald Alonzo McCalley, a long time resident of Fraser, died peacefully on Monday surrounded by the love of his family in Medi Lodge Health Care Facility of Sterling Hts. He was 85 years of age.

Gerald was born in Detroit on November 2, 1933, a son of the late Marion and Marjorie (Linbacher) McCalley. He served his country honorably in the U.S.Navy. during the Korean War. Gerald was united in marriage to his beloved wife, Ann Goddard, on September 12, 1959 in Mount Hope Methodist Church of Detroit. The couple made their home in Fraser and was blessed with two beautiful daughters of whom he loved and cherished. Gerald was a hard worker and was in the construction industry for over 30 years as a pile driver. When he wasn't working, he was busy around the house tinkering away and doing yard work. Gerald enjoyed the winter months of hunting and loved cheering on his grandsons during their Hockey seasons. Above all, he was a family man who was a dedicated husband, loving and understanding father, and a supportive and proud grandfather. Gerald will be deeply missed and his light will continue to glow in our hearts forever.

Gerald is the beloved husband of 59 years to Ann; dearest father of Kelley (Ken) Beltowski and Shannon Marie McCalley; cherished grandfather of Brent and Troy; and dear brother of Mary Winn and the late Susie and Sally.

Visitation will be held at Faulmann & Walsh Golden Rule Funeral Home, 32814 Utica Road, Fraser Thursday from 3pm until the time of funeral service at 6pm. Memorial contributions may be addressed to the Michigan Humane Society for he loved animals. Share memories at www.faulmannwalsh.com
