Obituary for Maureen Kay Vandenabeele (Van Hevel)

Maureen Kay Vandenabeele, longtime resident of Eastpointe, died peacefully March 17, 2019. She was 66 years of age.

Maureen was born in Detroit, Michigan on June 14, 1952, daughter of the late Maurice and Sophie (Rosenthal) VanHevel. She made her home in Eastpointe and was blessed with a wonderful son, Roger, who she loved and cherished. Maureen loved flowers and was a master gardener. She was an avid reader who enjoyed games and puzzles. Her son's happiness was always important to her and she loved spending time with her grandchildren. We will always remember Maureen as a kind, thoughtful woman who always had a beautiful smile and a kindred spirit. She will be deeply missed and her light will continue to glow in our hearts forever.

Maureen is the loving mother of Roger (Amanda Peterson) Vandenabeele; cherished grandmother of Alice, Julia, Brayden, Annemarie and Donnie; and sister of Janice Cook and the late James VanHevel.

Visitation will be held at Faulmann & Walsh Golden Rule Funeral Home, 32814 Utica Road, Fraser, Saturday from 4pm until the time of funeral at 7pm. Share memories at www.faulmannwalsh.com
