Obituary for Nate Wallace Gray

Wallace Nathan Gray, known to all as Nate, died peacefully surrounded by the love of his family on March 15, 2019. He was 86 years of age.

Nate was born on September 24, 1932 in Detroit, Michigan, son of the late Dalton and Ruby (Graviette) Gray. He served our country honorably in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Soon after, Nate was united in marriage to his loving wife, Sharron G. Yochim, on January 10, 1959 at St. Veronica Catholic Church of Eastpointe. Their union was blessed with two beautiful daughters of whom he loved and cherished. Nate had a wonderful and successful career at Lanzen Fabricating for 40 dedicated years; retiring at the age of 84. He loved golfing in the warm summer months and bowling during the winter. He was an avid reader who enjoyed playing cards with family and friends. Nate had a beautiful singing voice and was always in the church choir.. Above all, he was a gentleman who was humble and kind. He always had a hand to give and a shoulder to lean on. Nate will be deeply missed and his light will conitnue to glow in our hearts forever.

Nate is the devoted and loving husband of 60 years to Sharron; dearest father of
Candace (Robert) Maynard and Charise (Rich) Baker; cherished grandfather of Samantha, Joshua, Sarah, Jacob and Scott; dear brother of Denise Caron and the late Ronnie, Gary and Roger; and beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will begin at Faulmann & Walsh Golden Rule Funeral Home, 32814 Utica Road, Fraser, Monday 10:30 am until the closing prayers at 11:30am. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Paul of Tarsus on Monday at 12Noon. The placement of ashes will be held at Great Lakes National Cemetery at 1pm on Wednesday.
