Obituary for Betty Ann Andersen

Betty Ann Andersen, resident of Sterling Heights, died peacefully April 27, 2017 surrounded by the love of her daughter. She was 79 years of age.

Betty was born on September 30, 1937 in Detroit, Michigan, daughter of the late Arthur and Marguerite Leonard. She was blessed with two beautiful daughters of whom she loved and cherished. Betty was a Psychologist and enjoyed helping people as her profession. After retirement, she spent her winter months in West Boca Raton, Florida where she enjoyed many friendships. She was a great listener who always had useful suggestions. Betty loved laughing and enjoyed life to the fullest. As the years went on, Betty continued evolving and started new hobbies. In her 70's she started playing contract bridge and became a life master, made many friends and loved to go to bridge tournaments. She also loved to go dancing with her companion Al. She enjoyed movies ,especially starring Johnny Depp, sewing and tending to her garden. Above all, she understood the meaning of friendship and the value of family.

Betty is the loving companion of Al Rubin; dearest mother of Karen Andersen and the late Lisa Nazar; cherished grandmother of Aaron and Maureen (Brian); dear great grandmother of Brayden; and beloved sister of Nancy (Doug) Hodges.

A memorial will be celebrated on Saturday, May 27, 2017 from 12-4pm at the Gazebo Banquet Center, 31104 Mound Rd, Warren, MI 48092.
